PRESS RELEASE IN SUPPORT OF BLACK LIVES MATTER – Feb 5, 2026

by | Feb 5, 2026 | Uncategorized

As we work to process the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others, we wanted to send a message to you directly. As an organization focused on empowering women, we stand in solidarity with the fight against systemic racial injustice and the longstanding oppression of the Black community.

Discrimination is the greatest threat to a community built on belonging and acceptance. It cuts to the core of who we are and what we believe in. Nepali Women’s Global Network (NWGN) stands with Black Lives Matter, in doing so, we reject racism, bigotry, and hate.

We still have work to do, and we’re continuing to take action on our commitment to fighting discrimination. We encourage you to take time to educate yourselves on the Black Lives Matter movement and advocate for our Black brothers and sisters. Please consider donating to organizations such as the NAACP, The Bail Project, Sister Song, the ACLU, or the Black Lives Matter foundation in support of their fight for equality and justice.

This is not a time to be silent. This is a time to grieve, to learn, and to act – together. Because Black Lives Matter!

Thank You !
